Dispatcher is to coordinate on-time pick-up and delivery of loads, which is imperative to the success of the company’s operations. The role of dispatcher is essential to keeping the business going. Dispatchers actively support the truck drivers in the performance of their duties.

Duties: tracing loads/shipments; managing freight volume. In the performance of these duties, the dispatcher exercises independent judgement, largely without direct supervision, in determining when/where/how/and what is required to either pick up or deliver a load, which requires real-time decision-making by the dispatcher.

Essential Functions:

· Ensures all driver loads are ready, covered and on time, for a quick process.

· Confirms drivers have the right equipment, and paperwork for their pick-ups

· Collect and verify needed paperwork for loads is accurate.

· Traces loads/shipments Manages freight volume if issues arise.

· Performs or serves as back up for yard checks Issues keys, record sheets and credentials to drivers

· Prepares tracking reports for customers

· Issues disciplinary action for drivers that violate company policy.

· Communicates with customers and customer service management regarding scheduling appointments and problems that arise with pick-up or delivery of loads; works to ensure customer is satisfied.

· Enters customer loads into system; updates loads when drivers call in.

· Plans drivers’ dispatch, assigns loads to drivers according to business needs and driver capabilities

· Communicates with drivers to provide dispatch instructions.

· Assists drivers in resolving complex issues

· Coordinates with other terminals to meet customer needs and ensure all pick-ups are made.

· Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made and other expenses.

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Experience in the intermodal / logistics transportation industry: strongly preferred.

· Ability to use various computer systems. Including: word, excel, Microsoft, google sheets.

· Excellent Customer service – communication both written and verbal.

· Ability to ready and interprets business reports and daily logs.

· Ability to work under general supervision.

· Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis.

· Must be able to work in all locations; roughly 15 min, apart from each other.

· Flexible; able to work 8 to 12+ hours daily.

· Able to work in a fast-pace environment.

· Bilingual (Preferred)

· Valid Driver’s License

Experience:

Dispatching 1 year (preferred)

Monday -Friday 8 AM to 5 PM – must be flexible to travel between site locations, and work extended work-hours.

Work Location: Pasadena & Channelview areas
